After growing tired of checking multiple apps every morning to get news, weather, traffic, subway and other information, I decided to build this dashboard. Built on Ruby and cloud hosted the dashboard fetches information from various sources and displays it on an old iPad I had lying around. Check out the code on GitHub or the Dashboard itself.
I have designed, built, and programmed a homemade Christmas light show, which features thousands of lights synchronized to music. The lights which were on the front of our home were viewed by thousands of spectators throughout the Christmas season.
I wanted to be able to play Pandora radio from the stereo just as one would any other radio station without having to leave a phone or tablet connected to the stereo. This all in one device features a LCD display and allows the user to play from any Pandora radio station also doubling as an AirPlay receiver for iOS devices.
Web app that scrapes pricing info from merchant websites, storing it in a MySQL database and then serving the historical pricing data to users graphically. This allows consumers to identify 'good deals' and other more advanced product details than are provided by the merchant. The app currently tracks 2,000+ items from LiquorandWineOutlets.com with historical data going back to 2012.
Spotify offline mode is great until you need your music on a device that doesn't have access to the app. Recordify allows users to drag songs, albums, or playlists into an automated queue which Spotify is then told to play. While the songs play Recordify records the output at full bitrate, and then saves the MP3 complete with metadata and album art.
I have had the opportunity to design, build and manage websites for many small businesses. I have created unique designs for clients, and integrated their websites into various content management systems.
After growing tired of paying for arcade games and unsatisfied with playing games using a keyboard and an emulator, I decided to build a full sized arcade cabinet. This coin operated (or free) arcade runs MAME (an arcade emulator) and has the ability to play thousands of classic arcade games, it also doubles as a jukebox!
While old ATX power supplies make great basic benchtop supplies, the four or five voltages given by the supply seemed somewhat limited. That is why this power supply had a 0-24V adjustable output, the voltage reading given with the LED display. The power supply also features 2x 2.1A USB ports for charging or running devices like Raspberry Pi's from the bench!
In preparation for a co-op with a drone company I custom built a FPV style quadcopter drone. Complete with 1800kV motors, 12A ESC's and a KK flight controller. The drone is capable of storing HD video to a SD card while also transmitting video down to a phone for realtime visuals. As you can see my flight skills are a constant work in progress!
I built a 50cc custom motorized bicycle as both a hobby and a useful way to get around town. Custom additions include headlights and brake lights, anti-theft ignition switch, and homemade welded laid back seat post.
After coming into a surplus of NiMH batteries and wanting a easy way to charge my devices on the go I designed and built this buck-boost powered USB charger. Complete with status LED's and a specialized NIMH charging IC, I designed and fabricated the PCB's. Then with the help of a 3D printer I build and printed the case for the charger.
After not being able to register for a course because it was full, I kept checking to see if any seats freed up. After a few days of checking it became cumbersome so I wrote a python script that runs as a CRON job checking the status of the course every 2 hours and sending an email when an opening becomes available.

Contributed to the electrical/firmware design, manufacture and test of a fitness wearable for elite athletes. Contributed to R&D of next-generation product as well as performing sustaining engineering on existing product line.
Designed and build functional alpha prototypes of a new sleep sensing product
Created test fixture and developed testing application to verify system quality
Extensive electrical debug, bring-up, rework and EDA design
January 2016 - August 2016
Electrical & Computer Engineering Co-op
Worked as an integral member of small team of engineers developing a micro UAV system for a government contract. Saw project through delivery and made significant contributions to both electrical and software design.
Designed and tuned LiPO battery management system, with gas gauging, cell balancing, and safety shutdowns.
Developed and tested power system, which allowed the drone to fly for hours over a small gauge microfilament tether.
Implemented GStreamer solution for streaming low-latency video from drone to OCU tablet.
January 2016 - August 2016
Developed a Surge Module to protect high efficiency LED lights from surge events. Directed project through design, prototyping and UL/CE regulatory testing.
Extensively used ECAD software to create and modify various PCB’s.
Ran thermal, ESD and efficiency testing on suite of lighting products.
Automated a number of tests through use of Python scripting which greatly reduced test time and increased accuracy.
December 2014 - July 2015
Designed and tested a program to scan e-mail attachments in-flight for viruses. Solution increased efficiency and provided significant cost savings compared to previous virus scanning program.
June 2014 - August 2014
Designed and built numerous PCB's using EDA software tools such as Altium Designer.
Heavily used tools such as Arena to create, modify and track product BOM's from design to production.
From writing scripts to automate tests procedures to large projects such as the Raspberry Pi Music Client
Performing ESD, Thermal, Hi-Pot, and lifetime testing on various electrical systems.
